With the knowledge of the importance of the category of urban livability and its functional relationship with the environmental quality of the city, this article has investigated this issue at the level of the two cities of Qom. This research, which is a type of library and field research, with a descriptive-analytical and survey method and with the use of extensive environmental survey by the executive team (photographing, sampling, interviewing and preparing informal reports with the citizens of each region, field observations and distribution of questionnaires), investigated the research topic among the citizens of the two cities of Qom, and the collected information was analyzed using spss16 and Lisrel software. The results of this study show that the set of environmental, visual and physical factors of this city has caused dissatisfaction with the quality of the environment and, consequently, the weakness of urban livability in the studied area. The growth of marginal areas, with very low environmental and social quality and poor condition in terms of biological indicators, little green space in terms of its distribution and severe lack (one third of the country's standard), the problem of fine dust, pollution. acoustics, housing quality, especially in poor and marginalized areas (localities such as Sheikh Abad, Mohammad Abad, Qala Kamkar, Shahr Qaim, Shadqali Khan, Shahrak Fatemiyeh, Shalangiha neighborhood, Qala Kamkar, Ismail Abad, Seyed Masoum, Chale Kore, etc.), inappropriate and non-standard width of alleys, lack of coordination of buildings in terms of form, inappropriate urban psychological quality, heterogeneous and sometimes sharp urban appearance, inappropriate access to sanitary space - treatment, neglecting the beauty of the neighborhood, lack of suitable space for the elderly, lack of suitable space for children, the category of feeling of belonging to the neighborhood, defenseless spaces, the weakness of signs and cultural and attractive local elements, the development of houses under the tower High voltage electric lines and... are among the results of this study, which show the poor environmental quality and not very suitable livability of the region.
